Within WWL, the Global Field team develops and leads cross-segment, role-based learning programs focused on increasing AI, technical, industry, and professional capabilities, to measurably accelerate field and partner performance. Our team delivers learning programs to over 60,000 professionals across our field organization.
As the Employee Learning Lead (ELL) for Japan, you will be part of a global network of ELLS working alongside your relevant key business leaders and stakeholders, Area Learning Leads and partners in the sales skilling organisation. The role will orchestrate and deliver the learning plan and activities to successfully enable Microsoft’s employees across the region in partnership with the global ELL team.
Responsibilities
- Drive consumption of existing learning and deliver what is needed to support skilling.
- Tailor learning events for managers and leaders to model, coach, care and drive learning plans
Skilling for business impact
- Empower Microsoft sales force to become the most competent & technically skilled sales org in the industry
- Implement Area Skilling Plans in partnership with Area leadership team, Area Learning Lead and Sales Enablement & Operations (SE&O) teams prioritizing the local learning needs aligned to the business priorities supporting both global and regional aspirations.
- Land priority workshops (whether regionally or Corp driven) to drive revenue
- Foster a culture where the Field is empowered to drive impactful skilling initiatives that are aligned to the local learning needs & are recognized for their efforts, also utilizing a localized gamification process (i.e. badging) if/as needed.
Drive learning programs globally
- Develop and land a global learning ROB for Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) across all regions to upskill MCAPS sellers in areas/regions to drive sales and technical excellence.
- Ensure alignment with operating units (CSA/CSU/STU & ATU) alongside the corp sales skilling org and SE&O to ensure clarity of needs and landing with our field sales teams
- Leverage an AI-driven platform focused on personalized, gamified, and AI-supported learning for sellers to orchestrate local learning initiatives.
Partner with leadership teams
- Strong partnership with local leadership team, stakeholders, enablement teams & decision makers in the form of Executive Learning Council (standalone or combined with Customer
- Engage managers and leaders as learning role models, walking the talk & promoting learning culture in areas & in 1:1 with teams.
Create, collaborate and share
- Ensure engagement of ELLs across all Corp Pilot/Program creation, enabling ongoing feedback loop to empower and support the field (e.g. what and how to land, aligned to learning needs and challenges including local language availability)
- Leverages the work of others within the GELL organization to align on learning days and content.
Inspire, inspire, inspire
- Engage with customers to share Microsoft’s Employee Skilling strategy and success stories.
- Promote Microsoft learning culture and AI learning with learning leads from other organizations in EBCs/ECs, 1:1 with companies, at conventions/events, etc.
Qualifications
- 5 -10 years broad business experience and project lead in international corporate sales, marketing, or services environment, ideally within the IT or a related industry. Learning and capability development experience desirable; management experience is a plus.
- Deep Field experience alongside and understanding of factors that motivate and drive results within technical, sales and marketing organizations, including quota carrying sales experience and /or channel or technical community development.
- Experience with industry, technical, and/or professional skills knowledge and sales capabilities is desired.
- Excellent communications skills, including in dealing with senior leaders; strong organizational agility in an enterprise environment and proven cross boundary collaboration capabilities, including v-team coordination
- Experience in change management and leading complex, organization-wide programs and projects. strategic & structured to develop a solid plan
- Demonstrated problem solving ability with an ability to manage through ambiguity and positively manage conflict to drive positive business results
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a remote team, driving successful outcomes with virtual teams
- Familiarity with Microsoft offerings (products and cloud services) is a plus
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree required with Master’s Degree preferred
- English and Japanese language fluency (English resume required)
