Overview

Azure DevOps (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/services/devops) is a suite of modern development services that enables software development teams to plan smarter, collaborate more effectively, and deliver faster with high-quality results. It offers cloud-hosted private Git repos, proven agile work tracking system, comprehensive CI/CD capabilities, and robust testing tools to empower developers to build innovative software seamlessly.

We are looking for Software Engineers for our Platform and Applications teams based in Europe. The Platform team is responsible for and specializes in Authentication, Authorization, Billing, and Security. The Applications team is responsible for Azure DevOps Repositories, Pipelines and Work Items.

In this role, you will be focused on enhancing the health, performance, and scalability of our backend services which will help us deliver great experience for software development teams.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and support impactful features and experiences.
  • Collaborate on technical solutions, contributing to the direction of our products.
  • Support highly available services used by millions, gaining experience with large-scale distributed systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across the tech stack, including frontend and database layers.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, triaging and responding to issues, and advocating for service health improvements.
  • Engage in code reviews and pair programming, contributing to a culture of learning and growth.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • You can code - Professional or academic experience with C#, C++, Java or any other OOP language.
  • You have good collaboration skills - Strong analytical skills as well as communication skills both verbal and written. We are a distributed team, so we are extra mindful about communication.
  • You’re a professional engineer – you understand that it’s not enough to write code that works; it also must be well-designed, easy to test, and easy to add to over time.
  • You want to learn to get things done – Willingness to explore unfamiliar codebases, debug client and service-side applications, and continuously learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Understanding of testing principles.
  • Troubleshooting skills across network, application, caching, queuing, load-balancing storage and distributed services layers.
