Drives prioritization and decision making for leaders across the organization by creating clarity in ambiguous situations. As appropriate, ensures internal continuation of business operations during all times, including periods of change or special circumstances. Collaborates with internal stakeholders and teams to supervise the creation and implementation of execution plans. Uses understanding of the organization's strategy and deliverables for the upcoming year(s) to design budgets that align with forecasting plans built in collaboration with the leadership team. Leverages or continues to build broader networks to foster strong relationships that support execution across the business. Leverages knowledge of the leader's goals and approach to ensure team activities are aligned with the leader's objectives. Supports and enables a healthy scorecard for the team/organization and promotes culture initiatives aligned to defined People Strategy, connecting leaders and teams to One Microsoft Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) plan resources and guidance. Manages cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and business needs. Supports the development of content for internal communication.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders and teams to supervise the creation and implementation of execution plans. Ensures alignment for leadership strategy initiatives across functions for their area of ownership. Communicates plans in a simple way and aligns with an understanding of business priorities and scorecards. Identifies effective practices for execution of strategies defined by leadership, leverages information, advocating for business cases, and may present cases to leader. May contribute to organizational design conversations to further facilitate successful implementation of organizational plans and strategies. Researches and proposes strategic options to the leadership team. Tracks and reports on key indicators of success to align priorities. May define measurement plans that include quantitative and/or qualitative data for tracking performance.
- Uses understanding of the organization's strategy and deliverables for the upcoming year(s) to design budgets that align with forecasting plans built in collaboration with the leadership team. Tracks financial progress to date against budget and may manage complex budgets with significant negotiation. Contributes to identification of actions that can course-correct and drive performance improvement. Communicates business challenges identified via forecasts. Works with Procurement team to coordinate future resources and collaborates with leaders on resource management planning. Ensures spend remains within budget and that leader is aligned to and informed on budget and headcount strategy and plans.

When needed, contributes to finding workable solutions to business problems. May communicate business continuity plans with Microsoft corporate Crisis Management, Business Continuity teams, and with partners.
- Drives prioritization and decision making for leaders across the organization by creating clarity in ambiguous situations. Partners with the leadership team to develop and execute planning processes, ensuring coordination with corporate planning processes as well as planning integration across the broader organization. Facilitates the team's rhythm of business (ROB) aligned to the scope and complexity of the business. Reviews adherence to privacy and compliance, and drives accountability for the team and organization in executing core business activities. Works with cross-company/team counterparts to manage team participation with the appropriate audiences for key business events, next fiscal year planning, running business reviews, and other strategic business planning activities. Collaborates with the leadership team to ensure content meets expectations to articulate objectives that are in alignment with the goals of the organization.
Executive Leader and Team Communications
- Supports the development of content for internal communication. Partners with chief of staff or communications manager to co-lead and land internal and/or external content. Communicates relevant information (e.g., security requirements, priorities, and/or updates) to the organization as required.
Maximizing/ Extending the Leader
- Leverages or continues to build broader networks to foster strong relationships that support execution across the business. Manages and cultivates relationships with leaders and stakeholders at scale for the business. Leverages understanding of stakeholder needs to ensure content is tailored to audience preferences and breaks down complex information into actionable steps. Carries out related reporting and exception management as required.
- Leverages knowledge of the leader's goals and approach to ensure team activities are aligned with the leader's objectives. Exercises confidentiality and discretion throughout work to assure and maintain trust with all stakeholders.
Organizational Health
- Supports and enables a healthy scorecard for the team/organization and promotes culture initiatives aligned to defined People Strategy, connecting leaders and teams to One Microsoft Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) plan resources and guidance. Partners with Human Resources (HR), leader, and business management community on best ways to apply company guidance, accelerate progress related to culture and inclusion, define communications and action plans for the organization in response to employee signals. Tracks the use of role-based compliance trainings and new trainings (e.g., security) to drive required training completion rates. As needed, may plan and execute on trainings and/or programs.
Special Project/Programs and Initiatives
- Manages cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and business needs. Engages projects/programs while executing aspects of projects/programs for larger areas, including work on strategic efforts that require hands-on experience which may be across multiple disciplines.

Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.
